Devaux Createur d’Exception…. A time honored Champagne tradition and expression of exceptional artistry.
In the very heart of la Côte des Bar in Bar-sur-Seine, one of the four main Champagne regions, Devaux produces some of the best Pinot Noir in the entire appellation. The Manor of Villeneuve dating back to the 18th century is a perfect location, capturing the spirit of Devaux history and contemporary vision.
Founded in 1846 by brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux, the brand very quickly earned its place in Champagne renown. The tradition continued and flourished under the inspirational leadership of Madame Veuve Augusta Devaux, and the house bears her name still today. In 1987, the last Devaux, Jean-Pol Devaux – with no son to pass this great tradition to, turned the responsibility of this glorious past and promise of future to the Union Auboise and its President, Laurent Gillet.
With a commitment to brand quality based on ten principles of production which encompass their vineyard quality charter, the Devaux process has no equivalent in the region. Applied for decades by over 100 winegrowers to date, each Champagne bearing the Devaux signature owes much of its marked character to the utmost respect of this quality process and promise of true distinction.
