Located in il Cristo, Grosseto, the winery was founded in 1954 by a group of passionate growers. The winemaker is Graziana Grassini, one of the first female winemakers in Italy, and of Sassicaia fame.
Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo are the most important varietals in the winery. The vineyards are located on the coastal strip of the Maremma in Castiglione della Pescaia, Alberese and Capalbio. The vineyard plots are very small, an average of less than 2 acres per vineyard. The winery has the Sustainable Certification.
The winery has an area dedicated only to organic farming produce from the region. Visitors to the winery can purchase a selection of Maremma products such as extra virgin olive oil, Tuscan pecorino cheese, honey, porcini mushrooms, preserves, and cured meats.
