ABSINTHE BOHEMIAN
Mata Hari Bohemian absinthe is a modern take on the ancient and notorious recipe. The "bohemian" style is said to be a specifically Austrian recipe dating back to 1881. Unlike the heavy anise-flavored (dominant black licorice) French version, this is meant to be much less heavily flavored and eminently more mixable in cocktails.
F. Paul Pacult of Spirit Journal gave Mata Hari 4 out of 5 stars ("Highly Recommended") saying in sum, "Hey, I like this one a lot."

Mata Hari
Absinthe – 60% vol. Hand crafted by renowned Fischer distilleries in Vienna, Austria, Mata Hari is blended after distillation with the traditional ingredients: wormwood, salvia, peppermint, chamomile, liquorice, and more. It has a bright green color and less anise than traditional absinthe, making it perfect for cocktails. It is finished at a traditional 60% alcohol by volume, to preserve and present this unusual and delicious combination of ingredients at their best. The original recipe was actually medicinal in nature, intended to act as a muscle relaxant. However, in the 19th century, absinthe became an elixir used by artists and writers alike to boost creativity. Today, it has become an ingredient in many complex cocktails. |
