ller Mariol is a third generation family winery, founded in 1945 and located in Batea in Terra Alta. This is a small and hidden region in the south of Catalonia, where the wine sector has great importance and tradition. With a dry Mediterranean climate, mostly calcareous soils and the combination of two predominant winds, one dry, the cerç, and the other wet, the garbinada, we get our grapes to grow in optimal conditions. Thanks to all these factors and the respect for the cultivation of our own 50 hectares and other small farmers' farms in the region, we obtain our wines and vermouths, products that express the uniqueness of our territory and our people. In our clear and firm commitment to sustainable agriculture,
At Celler Mariol we are focused on making quality vermouths and single-varietal wines, with a very daring presentation designed by the German art director, Mirko Borsche.
Our vineyards reflect our history and that of our surroundings, from the introduction and cultivation of foreign varieties in the 80s, syrah, cabernet and merlot, to the return to the most ancestral tradition with the ennobling of Grenaches from the Earth High, until experimentation with varieties such as Verdejo. Our vineyards are avant-garde, curiosity and tradition.
Our commitment is not to interfere in the complexity of the ecosystem of our territory, and we achieve this by cultivating our vineyards in a sustainable and ecological way.
We like to stir, listen and explore new trends to excite and surprise with vermouths, wines and spirits that will not leave anyone indifferent.
And to get closer to current sensibilities, since 2019 our products have been certified Vegan, which guarantees that no substances of animal origin have been used at any stage of the production of our vermouths and wines.
