Childhood friends, Darek Bell and Andrew Webber, began homebrewing beer and wine in Darek and Amy Lee Bell’s garage. They hit a snag while working on a prototype bio-diesel plant, causing Andrew to remark that making whiskey would be much more satisfying. The idea stuck, and the two soon found themselves studying distilleries and spirits.
Soon after, in 2008, Corsair Distillery was founded in Bowling Green, KY. By 2010, Corsair set its marks where it all started, becoming the first craft distillery in Nashville since prohibition. Corsair’s spirits have been praised in publications like Food and Wine, Saveur, Imbibe, Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate, the Atlantic, Time Out New York, and Maxim.com. Corsair’s innovative and adventurous spirits have won over 800 medals at national and international spirits competitions.
As Nashville has grown, Corsair has grown with it. With two Nashville natives at the head of the business, Corsair has expanded greatly since its arrival in 2010. In January 2016, Corsair opened its doors to a second Nashville location, the WeHo Headquarters. Not only did this move create office spaces and more barrel storage,
but it allowed for the creation of craft whiskey on a higher production scale.

TRIPLE SMOKE SINGLE MALT
Whisky Advocate’s Artisan Whiskey of the Year - The whiskey that put us on the map. We use three individually smoked malts (cherrywood from Wisconsin, beechwood from Germany, and peat from Scotland) to craft this deep and complex whiskey. Using 3 distinct smokes provides consistent and balanced smoke from nose to the pallet and throughout the finish. Corsair never uses artificial flavors or colors, achieving superior flavor and color through quality malted barley, innovative distillation and small barrel maturation. TASTING NOTES: Smoke and notes of cherry pervade the palate, finished by a slight brininess from the mossy peat. Pot distilled then aged in new American charred oak, Triple Smoke has the sweetness of an American whiskey with the rich smoke of an Islay single malt scotch. 40% ABV DARK RYE WHISKEY 61% Malted rye, 4% malted chocolate rye, and 35% malted barley make up the grain bill of this rich, delicious whiskey. Unlike many other rye whiskeys, we do not use corn to ll up our grain bill, choosing instead malted barley which means Corsair Dark Rye is technically both a rye whiskey and a malt whiskey. This produces exceptionally smooth rye whiskey with chocolate, coffee and spice instead of green notes common in most ryes. Corsair never uses artificial flavors or colors, achieving superior flavor and color through quality malted rye and barley, innovative distillation and small barrel maturation. TASTING NOTES: Rye and citrus fruit forward nose with a hint of chocolate. Chewy, viscous mouth feel with rye malt spice and oaky sweetness on the pallet. Subtle chocolate and spice notes followed by a clean rye finish and a lingering chocolatey rye after tone. 42.5% ABV AMERICAN GIN
We craft our gin in small batches using a vapor basket system instead of boiling/maceration common in other gins. A vapor system allows a truer flavor to come through because the botanicals go through an extraction process rather than a cooking process. By using this we are able to impart a much lighter, more crisp botanical medley – resulting in a citrus forward, highly mixable gin. Corsair never uses artificial flavors or colors, achieving superior flavor and color only through quality ingredients and innovative distillation practices. BOTANICALS: Cucumber peel, Lemon peel, Orange peel, Chamomile flower, Juniper, Coriander, Cardamom, Angelica, Hyssop, Orris root, Licorice root TASTING NOTES: Balanced blend of citrus, juniper, cardamom and cucumber on the nose. Cucumber peel and Far East spices coming through on the pallet with a hint of mint at the back. Finishes with a crisp, light but long citrus and spice. 44% ABV BARRELED GIN
Barrel aged gin has become increasingly popular with Corsair leading revival of this style of Gin. BOTANICALS: Lemon peel, Orange peel, Chamomile flower, Juniper, Coriander, Cardamom, Anise, Cloves, Cinnamon, Licorice root, Vanilla Bean, Nutmeg TASTING NOTES: Classic gin forward nose evolves into a spice medley of cinnamon, clove and coriander. Anise, black licorice, clove hit the pallet initially but give way to vanilla and rum notes before a clean dry finish. 46% ABV VANILLA BEAN VODKA
Our Vanilla Bean Vodka is made with Madagascar Vanilla Beans, the best fair trade beans we could find, which are then hand-split at our facilities. The resulting spirit is dry, clean, with the unmistakable aroma and flavors of true vanilla. TASTING NOTES: Pure, dry vanilla. 40% ABV
